Thomas Spade is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in South Carolina and the Commonwealth of Virginia. He grew up in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, but as the son of a 4th Generation Charleston girl, he felt the need to return to his ancestral home in 2005 and has been in Charleston ever since. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from George Mason University while working in accounting for community association management, he cut his teeth in public accounting working for a predecessor firm of Dixon Hughes Goodman in Northern Virginia. After a stint with a small firm in downtown Charleston, he started Thomas M. Spade, CPA, P.C. shortly after earning a Master of Science in Accountancy from the Accountancy Graduate Program at the School of Business of the College of Charleston. Beside managing the practice, he is a full time member of the faculty of the Department of Accounting and Legal Studies of the School of Business at the College of Charleston.
He has also proudly served as Head Auditor for numerous Miss America preliminary pageants in the Lowcountry each year since 2011. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, Beta Gamma Sigma, and is a Lifetime Member of the National Eagle Scout Association. |
